Whether you are a forward or a defenseman, your ability to skate with efficiency, power and agility is paramount at any and all levels of Hockey. The greatest skill any Hockey player can have is the ability to SKATE! Overspeed is a training method designed to help players attain this skill. We will also focus on conditioning through technique and mechanics of the skating stride. Each player will have a video analysis session at the conclusion of the program. The analysis will focus on overall efficiency of skating stride and general overview of improvements and strengths in coordination with our coaches.
Our goal will be to ensure your player stays sharp and fine tunes their mechanics and technique.

What is Overspeed?
Hockey specific Overspeed is when a skater moves his or her required parts at higher than normal competitive speeds. An Overspeed workout requires players to skate at speeds 9-15 percent faster than they are capable of. Overspeed is an on-ice training method which is designed to keep the players feet in constant motion at a 100% work load on their legs, using crossovers, pivots, and half pivots and constant motion drills. This consists of both forward and backward skating.
Overspeed forces dedicated athletes to be pushed outside their comfort level by repetitive crossovers to attain maximum speed and coordination resulting in maximum performance! Overspeed is not for everyone. It is very challenging as your legs take a heavy work load in a very short amount of time. Overspeed training is for dedicated players only!
